Bread!

Made bread today. I’ve been trying this off and on for a while now and I’ve never really nailed it. This one isn’t perfect, but it’s good enough that I actually want to eat the whole thing!

Looks Great on the outside!

The crust was perfectly crispy and crunchy! Ive never been able to achieve a good crust before.

Decent texture inside.

Not bad on the inside.

The last couple of breads that I’ve tried had a heavy, uniform texture, this one is actually light and fluffy with small air pockets! The holes are not as big as I like, but overall I’m pretty pleased.

Sliced this bread would be great for sandwiches. The flavor is nice, but a bit plain. I am learning more about bread yeast and starter cultures and hope to have more interesting loaves in the future. I used this recipe. It is one of those “no knead” recipes that seem to be so popular these days. This is the first one I’ve tried that actually worked. Just make sure you get the measurements as exact as possible.

    It looks great! I got this book filled with no-knead recipes that is pretty dang good… called “Artisan Bread in less than Five Minutes a Day.” I made a challah bread after the initial boulle loaf (like the one in your pics), and it actually came out good too!
